If you’re pregnant and on social media like myself it is very easy to get sucked into the many different fads for newborns and babies. I will admit it is rather difficult finding gender neutral colours for baby stuff unless you find yourself in the worm hole of instagram. Because the certain colours of burnt orange, sage green, mustard yellow ect.. are not your everyday baby colours you’d pick up in the store on main, the prices of these different coloured baby items are extremely unaffordable for the average low income family. So I went hunting and usually my first place I like to hunt for affordable alternatives is aliexpress.com . After a while of searching, what do you know.. the same ones pop up on the menu. And i’m not just talking similar ones, i’m talking the exact same ones.
Now, keep in mind that a lot of these “instagram stores” don’t actually make their own products they just find trendy items and mark them up the arse which i’m not complaining about. Cause girl, do yo thang. This babe loves a hustler. Get your hustle on. But keep in mind there are other options and mostly likely the same options for a fraction of the price.
So today i’m sharing these 70% Bamboo Fiber / 30% Muslin Cotton Swaddles. These are super beautiful and extremely soft to the touch. I am in love with the colours and will definitely be ordering a few more. I started off with just ordering 2 unless they really weren’t what I was looking for (which hell yes, they were exactly what I was hoping for! if not better!). These are $9.53 a piece so was under $20 for the 2 of them. These come in 8 different solid colours from this specific item and the shipping cost if free 😉
Today marks my 26th week of pregnancy. Feeling good! Really enjoying the spring time and all it’s glory. About to make some tasty banana bread with oat flour.. so i’ll let you know how that turns out. I have mad ripe bananas in my fridge that my friend dropped off after her dad bought a mound of banana’s (couldn’t help a good deal, which I can get down with). Possibly going to make more than one loaf depending how it turns out!
So this weeks pregnancy update is that the baby can supposedly hear our voices now when we conversate with each other. He is inhaling and exhaling small amounts of amniotic fluid, which is essential for his lung development & is good practice for when he takes his first gulp of air. 🙂 & from what I have read, the baby is supposedly around the size of a cauliflower.
Happy Mother’s Day to all of you lovely mama’s out there. Seeing as greeting cards are almost $8 each these days (which is ridiculous) I decided to create these little canvas card paintings instead. ♡ Made with love is always better anyways!
I suppose I haven’t actually written anything about my pregnancy… but I would like to start.
It has been an interesting journey this one. I’m not sure anyone can truly express what it is like to be pregnant, it is really something one has to experience to understand. I’m not going to go through my pregnancy up to this point because that would be an awful lot and honestly i’m just not that interested in reliving it at the moment! However I will start us at 21 weeks.
21 Weeks came around and I had a sore throat that formed into a nasty head cold, my nights were very limited of sleep as my bladder seemed to be full everytime I moved. On top of hormones and exhaustion something just wasn’t quite right downstairs. Oh brilliant! I have yeast infection. It all was a bit overwhelming to be frank. I was not stoked on what my body was going through at this time but knew it would pass. I had the delight of a friend coming to visit for a week and a half which was such a nice refreshing dose of socializing that was well needed. Once she left to go back home my hormones were going off the chart and depression started to creep in and I was having a very hard time feeling like myself. BOOM! I had a mental break down which ended up actually being quite refreshing once it was over and I had the chance to get some stuff off my chest with the point making it fully across the finish line.
Which brings us to a couple days ago. My depression has passed for now, my hormones… well I don’t expect them to calm down anytime soon but am feeling more at peace with myself and my body.
I suppose I will leave it at that, until a perhaps future update (hopefully).
