Whilst down in Granville Islands at the Market, as there are way too many things to choose from which becomes very overwhelming, we decided to pick up a couple tarts before heading back to our hotel.
I didn’t try the key lime tart because I am not much of a sweet tooth myself, however I did try the blueberry tart and it wasn’t overly sweet and had a really nice texture to it. I think the presentation of the tart’s honestly speak for themselves! Delicious.
About a month ago I was contacted by a very lovely employee of the LookBookStore.com, which is an online fashion store. Vanessa invited me to be apart of their “blogger program” to help promote a couple of their items. She was nice enough to send me two items for free to enjoy and review for you lovely birds out there! ❤
Seeing as the weather has taken a huge turn and we await the arrival of the snow, the items I chose were to keep warm, but stay fashionable at the same time 😉 . My first item is this “oversized” knit cardigan, now.. It COULD be oversized if I was 5’5″, being 5’8″ though, this is more just a medium-long cardigan. The sleeves don’t reach my wrists which doesn’t really bother me, the zipper is a bit on the cheap side, other than that i love this knit cardigan! ❤ I think it would be even more awesome if it had a hood! Just sayin ❤
This knit cardigan costs $42.00. You can find it here!
My next was my favorite thing on the entire website! Which is this WICKED “Black Faux Fur Coat”. I’m super excited to wear this for halloween, and throughout the winter! This actually keeps me pretty dang warm and fits me PERFECT. This retails at $86.00 & is sooo soft yet fierce!
Seeing as the Autumn hit us hard and quick, i’ve been gettin’ my bake on like it’s goin’ out of style. Today I share this moist, delicious, coconut flour, chocolate zucchini loaf recipe with you!
To get started you want to grab 2 medium zucchini’s and either grate them or dice them into smaller cubes so they will blend easily with your food processor. (I hand grated them with my cheese grater). After you have the zucchini all grated up, you want to drain the moisture from your zucchini, using a strainer works and or paper towel.
Let that sit and we’ll get the rest together!
(we have 4 small eggs here, you can use 4 small or 2 large eggs, what ever is in your carton!)
PREHEAT OVEN TO 350* F (make sure there is nothing in the oven already!)
2 tbsp of cocoa powder
1 1/2 cup shredded zucchini (squeeze excess water out of the shredded zucchini)
Last night I cozied in before the party… happened. Before all the madness I sat down with a nice glass of $8.95 Grey Fox Merlot, and a tasty little snack that involved Kavli Cripsy Thin Crackers these are suuper thin so I had to double up to even be able to spread the cream cheese. On top of the Philadelphia Roasted Garlic cream cheese I broke up some smoked salmon I bought at the grocery store for $2.95 (could make about 8 crackers!) then I sliced a couple of mini dill pickles for the side and pulled out a couple of chunks of garlic from the pickle jar to put on top of the smoked salmon. Very tasty!
This Tuesday I find myself doing yoga on my kitchen floor then sitting down to edit through video I recorded yesterday. Unfortunantly some of my footage was deleted from pulling my SD card out without ejecting it 😥 So remember to always safely remove your SD card because you can and you most likely will lose some of your photos/footage.
On another note! It is almost winter and nothing is more cozy than a large jar of tea in my books. Personally I am not a huge green tea fan, however the benefits of drinking it are difficult not to want to take part in. This “Harmonious blend of green tea with lemongrass & spearmint” by Tazo tea’s is very tolerable for me, being a green tea and all. It truly is a bit harmonious, a very lovely blend. I love lemongrass and I’m a fan of mint tea’s. So if you are in somewhat the same flavor’s and want to get into green tea or already love green tea and just looking for something new I recommend trying the Tazo blends! They are a tad expensive, about $6-$7 a box. and you can get them at any Starbucks, SaveOnFoods.. i’m sure you can pick it up at other grocery stores!
Weight Loss. Green tea increases the metabolism. The polyphenol found in green tea works to intensify levels of fat oxidation and the rate at which your body turns food into calories.
Diabetes. Green tea apparently helps regulate glucose levels slowing the rise of blood sugar after eating. This can prevent high insulin spikes and resulting fat storage.
Heart Disease. Scientists think, green tea works on the lining of blood vessels, helping keep them stay relaxed and better able to withstand changes in blood pressure. It may also protect against the formation of clots, which are the primary cause of heart attacks.
Esophageal Cancer. It can reduce the risk of esophageal cancer, but it is also widely thought to kill cancer cells in general without damaging the healthy tissue around them.
Cholesterol. Green tea reduces bad cholesterol in the blood and improves the ratio of good cholesterol to bad cholesterol.
Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s. It is said to delay the deterioration caused by Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s. Studies carried out on mice showed that green tea protected brain cells from dying and restored damaged brain cells.
Tooth Decay. Studies suggests that the chemical antioxidant “catechin” in tea can destroy bacteria and viruses that cause throat infections, dental caries and other dental conditions
Blood Pressure. Regular consumption of green tea is thought to reduce the risk of high blood pressure.
Depression. Theanine is an amino acid naturally found in tea leaves. It is this substance that is thought to provide a relaxing and tranquilizing effect and be a great benefit to tea drinkers.
Anti-viral and Anti-bacterial. Tea catechins are strong antibacterial and antiviral agents which make them effective for treating everything from influenza to cancer. In some studies green tea has been shown to inhibit the spread of many diseases.
Skincare. Green tea can apparently also help with wrinkles and the signs of aging, This is because of their antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities. Both animal and human studies have demonstrated that green tea applied topically can reduce sun damage.
I have neglected you for a while it feels like.. I have a dilemma.. I have one apply left and i’m being a little piggy and want to eat it but then i thought to myself.. that would make for a good batch of apple cinnamon muffins for desert later..
Not much of a dilemma is it?.. I’m obviously just going to eat the apple, too much work for a stoner like my PSYC.. Muffins make for much better photo’s don’t you agree?
So i’ve decided since i’m going to be posting lots of food pictures i’m going to make its own page because it would just.. make.. thing more interesting perhaps?
PS- i know i said i was trying not to eat wheat but my boyfriend just came to me and served my sandwich in a silly character so i couldn’t say no.
